The makers of “saw” and “Paranormal activity” come together to bring you “Insidious”. Supernatural Horror directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannell. This haunted House style story centres on a couple whose son inexplicably enters a comatose state and becomes an empty vessel for spirits in an astral dimension.

My personal Review

I watched this film with my little sister the other night and I must say the first half was bloody fantastic, I was on the edge of my seat gripping my knees in suspense and my little sister was covering her face in pure fear and then the second half all got a little bit silly as if unable to live up to the extremely high standards of the first. It all starts with a family moving into a new home and at first everything seems fine . After a couple of days the eldest boy Dalton “Ty Simpkins” decides to take a wonder up to the spooky attic and has a simple fall while trying to turn a light on. His parents Josh “Patrick Wilson” and , Renai “Rose Byrne” rush to his screams but it seems he just got a bit of a fright and wasn’t seriously injured until his father tries to waken him the next morning to discover Dalton had slipped into a coma. Surely the fall he had in the attic couldn’t have caused this, so what could it be ? His parents have no idea as they struggle to find the root of his illness and the doctors are clueless as to what could have caused this as there are no signs of brain damage. After a few months and a series of tests the doctors allow Dalton to go home for his family to care for him whilst inexplicably he is still in a coma. Shortly after Dalton comes home the truly terrifying moments unravel and this creepy rollercoaster of jumps and thrills begins. Overall I think this film has elements of pure genius and if it wasn’t for the shaky second half and the some of the unappealing visuals it would have been one of if not the BEST horror movie ever made!!
Rating: A Must See
